I am a senior Anthropology major and Sociology minor at American University. I transferred to AU after two years at community college. As a first generation student, this transition was particularly important as I navigated credits and finances while seeking a college experience... I could look back on and take pride in. I was online for one year, and spent this past year on campus, where I was immediately thrown into the world of dorms and dining halls. I acclimated further into campus life by joining three clubs, one for dance and the latter two in which I took leadership positions for community service and youth programming. Another part of the reason why I transferred, aside from the huge difference in resources, was for the opportunity to study abroad. I took advantage of AU’s resources and have been able to intern and study abroad during two separate semesters, with the support of grants and scholarships I learned about through AU. I’m excited to help answer any questions you have! Show more
