"The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.”
A living cycling legend that needs no introduction, Philippe Gilbert. He is a Belgian professional road cyclist who won the 2012 World Championships. Next to that, he has already won many big races such as Paris-Roubaix, Tour of Flanders, the Tour of Lombardy and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Just a win in the fifth ‘monument’ race, Milan-San Remo is missing in order for him to achieve his ultimate goal of winning all 5 Monument races. This quest is called the "Strive for Five”. If he can achieve this, Philippe would become only the fourth cyclist ever to win all five “Monuments”, after other legends Eddy Merckx, Roger De Vlaeminck and Rik Van Looy.
“Phil” is loved by the media and fans, thanks to his results and more importantly his offensive and attractive racing style. “Phil" stands for passion, tradition, determination, and authenticity.
"My dream is to win big races - to re-win ones I have won before and, if possible, win the ones I haven't.”
Philippe is also committed to helping the less fortunate as a proud ambassador of "Plan International" and "Peace and Sport"
