Hey! My name is Emily McCarthy. I am currently a Sophomore at American University. At AU I am double majoring in Political Science and Public Relations & Strategic Communications. College during COVID-19 has been an adjustment, however, AU has done an amazing job at balancing CO...VID-19 safety protocols and a college experience. During my first semester I was in University College, a LLC (Living Learning Community), that allowed me to meet many amazing people. Through this I was able to create relationships with other students and Professors. While I was unable to tour AU before committing to the school as soon as I arrived in august I felt right at home. This showed me how strong the community at AU is. I understand the challenges that go along with applying to college and deciding which one is the best fit during a pandemic.
