I am a fourth year student currently attending UC Merced and I am an employee for the National Visitor Use Monitoring Program (NVUM) that works together with that USDA Forest Service. As a first generation I really wanted to take advantage of all the amazing experiences that UC ...Merced had to offer as I was never given those opportunities up to this point. I want to give overall insight into my experience so that future students can be prepared for what’s to come along with how to create connections for future job opportunities. At the same time I have held leadership positions for multiple clubs such as Merced Pre-Law Society (MPLS) and Merced Material Research Society (MRS) where I learned additional leadership skills that is useful for gaining experience in the real world.
