I am a Senior Critical Theory & Social Justice major and Politics Minor at Occidental College. I am the captain of the Women's Basketball team in addition to being a member on the Women's Track and Field team. On campus I am very involved in promoting a safe space for underprivi...leged communities on campus. For the past 3 years, I have been working as an Equity Ambassador at my schools Intercultural Community Center. There I act as the bridge between students and faculty from marginalized communities in order to make their time at Oxy feel like a home away from home. I am the lead copy editor for the Critical Theory & Social Justice Journal Review Board. This a group of about 8 folks in my major that were handpicked by faculty to create an undergraduate journal with essays and art from undergraduate students that attend different colleges across the country. Oxy has provided me with so many great opportunities including internships and networks with folks in the workforce. My goal is to go to get my PhD and become a professor one day and I believe that Oxy has set me up to achieve that goal. I would love to talk more about why I chose Oxy and get to know you better!
