Hey guys! I’m Rida. I’m a Pakistani first-generation college student. I’m a first year human biology major on the pre-med track at the University of California, Merced. Being a first generation college student is definitely terrifying, however, UC Merced has provided me a welcom...ing community which has made it much easier. In high school I was involved in various health organizations, clubs, and I constantly volunteered at hospitals and clinics. I have carried that into college as I am in the pre-med club, UROC (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center), MSA (Muslim Student Association), and SASA (South Asian Student Association). Some of my hobbies include gaming, volleyball, baking, and writing. College applications are scary and picking the right college is nerve-wracking, but having a support system during it relieves some of that pressure.
